No, they are completely optional. If you write your own content, the subscription is all you need. Credits cost $1 each with a $10 minimum top-up, and they come out of your wallet only when a piece publishes successfully. If a generation fails, you pay nothing.
It is pay per output, and $1 buys 1 credit. A blog post costs 6 credits, a news story 3 credits, and a social post 1 credit, charged only when the piece publishes successfully. So a plan with 90 credits covers up to 15 blog posts, 30 news stories, or 90 social posts a month, in any mix you like.
Credits are prepaid, so you top up whenever you need more. There is no fixed monthly commitment and nothing renews on its own. One dollar buys one credit, and whatever you do not spend stays in your wallet.
